Blackstrap & TrailFest this Sunday

Plus 1/3 of the way done with our Lowell fundraiser!<!–

Hey folks,

Big event coming up this Sunday with our friends at the Falmouth Land Trust and Cheabeague & Cumberland Land Trust. Plus, we’ve raised nearly $9,000 in just one week since starting our Lowell Preserve fundraiser in support of building two world-class MTB trails with Mt. Abram Trails. More below!

Join us this Sunday, 9/28 at Blackstrap for a group ride followed by Trailfest in Cumberland!

Join GPNEMBA (RSVP here) for a radical group ride around your favorite tech trails in Falmouth – Blackstrap – followed by celebrating all that is trails at TrailFest, a new event put together by our partners at the Falmouth & Cumberland-Cheabeague Land Trusts. This will be a great Sunday afternoon for all things trails!

1:00-3:00: Group ride at Blackstrap Preserve. We will split up into 2-3 groups with variations in distance (7-8 miles v. 10-12). Get ready to blast some tech and hit some jumps! **Please try and carpool as there is limited parking at the Hurricane trailhead

3:00-7:00: TrailFest @ Wander in Cumberland. This is an event jointly hosted by the Falmouth Land Trust and Chebeague & Cumberland Land Trust, and will be an afternoon of delicious food (pizza, salad, dessert), live music, lawn games, kids’ activities, and more. This collaborative event will be a fun way to celebrate and support Falmouth and Cumberland trails. We’ll head here as a group after the ride (~10 min drive)

Adult tickets are $50 each, kid’s tickets (ages 5 and up) are $5 each, and kids under 5 can attend for free. Tickets can be purchased here. Proceeds will support FLT & CCLT’s efforts to maintain and protect the trails we love.

Nearly 1/3 of the way through our Lowell Fundraiser!

We’re off to a strong start — nearly $9,000 raised in just one week!

Following the success at East Windham Conservation Area, we’re teaming up with the Presumpscot Regional Land Trust and Town of Windham to revamp Lowell Preserve as part of our vision for a premier Falmouth-Windham trail corridor.

Trail builder Chris Cyr has completed a new connector and is building a two-mile XC trail. Next, we aim to bring in Max Southam and Mt. Abram Trails to build two directional mountain bike trails this fall — both longer than Bustamove and tailored for intermediate riders.

With $20,000 already committed, we’re raising $30,000 to finish construction by season’s end. Your donation helps build world-class trails and a stronger riding community.

Donate today and help shape Greater Portland’s mountain biking future!
